Helping Homeschoolers
Build Literacy

One Block at a Time

Our mission is to provide affordable professional support to homeschooling families on their literacy journey.

Our mission is to provide affordable professional support to homeschooling families on their literacy journey. It is estimated that one in every 5 children has dyslexia. Many of these children will get help through their schools. What about homeschoolers with dyslexia? We believe homeschooling is most often the best option for children with dyslexia. Unfortunately, high quality reading intervention and resources are out of reach for many families operating outside traditional school settings. Soar Literacy and Learning seeks to change that by providing support and resources to parents who wish to remediate their child’s dyslexia themselves through our affordable membership program.

Our Story

Jenn, a mother to four wonderfully neurodivergent boys, has been homeschooling since 2009. When her son was diagnosed with severe dyslexia she dove deep into research and felt called to be become a dyslexia specialist herself. In her quest to help her son, she decided to be create the solution she had hoped to find, an organization that educates and empowers parents without breaking the bank. She knows firsthand the financial sacrifice that comes with homeschooling and understands the cost of private dyslexic therapy is out of reach for many families. That is why she founded Soar. She believes reading is a right and school or financial status should not be a barrier.
